Some people are already busy with planning their next vacation, and why wouldn’t they? For me, going on vacation is something I look forward to the most of the year! Are you out of ideas and inspiration? Try consider these following 3 locations.
According to Skyscanners’ trendreport there are three new must-see locations on this planet, and already very popular for us Dutch people:
1. ICELAND
The biggest part of the year it’s very cold here, but despite that Iceland is the number one in upcoming vacation destinations. This is because of the amazing Northern Light, the geysers and their impressive waterfalls. And if you’re fed up with all that nature and looking for some more comfort, there’s always an opportunity to visit the capital Reykjavik. It seems to be the most visited and busiest city at the same time. (I’m wondering how busy, considering Iceland’s population is 328.452 people) Besides that, it seems to be amazing. One more benefit: It is less cold than in other parts of the island. Yay! Reykjavik has a beautiful combination of modern design with tradition and history and the city offers a lot of trips. You can get all the information at their tourist office called Upplýsingamiðstöð Ferðamála. I’m not kidding, that is the real name.
2. COLOMBO (SRI LANKA)
Number two on Skyscanners’ list would be Colombo. In the past three years their searches increased with 25% each year, worldwide! Colombo appears to be a very interesting city. I didn’t know it was that modern actually, but they improved a lot of train connections and opened multiple hotels and casino’s. There are museums and a lot of history, and if you just want to chill for one day you can go to the beach as well! It seems that there is a seafood pub called Bu Ba, where you can relax and enjoy your retreat under the palm trees. Are you tempted yet?
3. SEOUL (SOUTH KOREA)
I feel like this is a must-go for everybody who is interested in fashion and innovations. Apparently this city is filled with the latest technology and has the best places to go shopping! They have a lot of food bars, luxurious hotels and enough clubs and casino’s, and for our real tourists there are of course enough of culture activities. For example the Lotus Lantern Festival, celebrating the birth of Buddha. One more thing: Seoul is not expensive! Always a nice detail.
For my readers who pay proper attention, I have another tip. Our real party animals should visit the Greek island Mykonos, also known as the new Ibiza. Celebrities like J.Lo, Jennifer Lopez and Lindsay Lohan are already spotted here. Why? Because it is cheaper and the parties are even BETTER than on Ibiza! Enjoy 🙂
So why are these locations cool? Because they are not like the average vacation. They all have something very unique. They provide entertainment but also a lot of history and nature, which I feel is becoming more important to people these days.
